Bird spotting in De Biesbosch

From the cabin you walk straight into the beautiful nature. In the reed marshes and willow forests, bluethroats, reed warblers and sedge warblers sing in the spring. And a typical Biesbosch resident, the Cetti's warbler, sings its very loud song. With a bit of luck you can catch a glimpse of a bittern, kingfisher or water rail. Just walk up and down the path in the Maltha polder and enjoy. In the winter months, the Maltha polder is a beautiful area to enjoy all kinds of wintering water birds. From the cabin, the birdwatching hut about one kilometre from the cabin or from the path you have a good chance of spotting a grebe, goosander, nun, scoter, kingfisher and perhaps even the mighty sea eagle!
