In De Maashorst: De Maashorst is the largest nature reserve of Brabant. The area is mostly visited on weekends or during holiday periods. Even though the cabins in De Maashorst are located pretty tranquil, it may occur that you will hear people in your surroundings. If you’re looking to find complete peace and quiet, then choose a stay during weekdays or outside high season, or in our cabin in De Biesbosch. In De Biesbosch: Cabin ANNA in De Biesbosch is located on a peninsula in the middle of the nature reserve. During the day there may be visitors, but in the evening everyone leaves the park. A stay in De Biesbosch is completely remote and you are here alone.
In De Maashorst: Here the various ANNAs are spaciously laid out on a spacious forest plot. Thanks to the dune structure and planting, during your stay you’ll experience a great deal of privacy. In addition, this forest is only accessible for guests of Holenberg itself and during your stay, the staff will not come within sight of your ANNA, unless you ask them to.
In De Biesbosch: Cabin ANNA Biesbosch is located on a peninsula in the middle of the nature reserve. The road to the cabin is closed to car traffic. The path behind the cabin is freely accessible to visitors of the nature reserve, you might encounter hikers here during the day. Boats can also moor on the other side of the peninsula. Most visitors leave the area in the evening, so you are alone in nature. A stay in De Biesbosch is completely remote, the area around the cabin is only accessible to you as a guest.

In De Maashorst: Inside ANNA, a separate toilet and separate shower are present. The bath is located in the living space and hidden underneath the floor. At ANNA Origin you’ll find the shower and the toilet in two separate units right next to your cabin. ANNA Collection has an extra outside shower.
In De Biesbosch: Inside ANNA, a separate toilet and separate shower are present. The bath is located in the living space and hidden underneath the floor. ANNA Biesbosch is off grid and therefore a septic tank is used. We would therefore like to ask you to only use the products that are in the cabin. These do not harm the septic tank.
During the winter period, ANNA and the Maashorst are a magical combination, but the experience isn’t suitable for everyone. During cold winter days it’s possible to heat up the indoor temperature to around 20°C. In wintertime we have extra warm blankets, but the cold remains part of the experience during a winter stay. Are you an adventurous person and would you like to start the day with lighting up a fire, then a wintery stay would be perfect for you!
All ANNAs are situated in beautiful forestry surroundings with plenty of privacy. In De Biesbosch, ANNA is completely isolated in a freshwater tidal area. One difference between the ANNAs are the different arrival and departure days.
ANNA Origin is the first ANNA that is built in Caspar Schols’ search for the perfect cabin. At Origin the shower and toilet are in separate buildings outside the cabin. All other ANNAs have a shower and toilet in the cabin.
ANNA Collection is our newest ANNA in De Maashorst and the design is perfect down to the smallest detail. In addition to the indoor shower, Collection also has an outdoor shower and this cabin is slightly larger.
ANNA Biesbosch is completely off grid and is located in De Biesbosch.
The pure experience of nature comes first during your stay at Holenberg. To really offer this experience, there is a minimum stay of two nights. Your stay in nature is a moment for yourself, a moment to unwind with your loved ones in a natural environment. During your stay you will notice that there is simply too much to enjoy for a stay of a single night.
We can finalize our booking if the first half of the payment is made within one week after booking. We ask you to pay the second half two weeks before your arrival. In the booking confirmation you will receive all information about the payment, including a link to make the payment directly. If your stay is within 2 weeks, we ask you to pay the full amount in advance.
The general terms and conditions of RECRON apply to all bookings. The cancellation terms are also mentioned in these terms and conditions.
The maximum occupation per ANNA is 2 adults and 2 children up to age 17, with the exception of ANNA Origin. In ANNA Origin you can stay with a maximum of 2 adults. For groups of three adults or more, you will need to book a second ANNA.
Yes, this is possible in ANNA Origin, ANNA Ulex, ANNA Molinia and ANNA Cytisus. Do keep in mind that with two large dogs the space in the cabin will be more limited.

In De Maashorst: Before and during your stay, you can book various activities. Please see the activities that are offered in De Maashorst. For each activity you can place an inquiry via the form and we will make a reservation for you subject to availability.
In De Biesbosch: There is much to see and do in De Biesbosch. We have listed the most beautiful activities for you. You can plan a number of activities yourself from the cabin. Guided activities in De Biesbosch can be booked yourself with the various providers.
In De Maashorst: At the reception you’ll find a folder with routes that you can borrow. On this website we’ve also collected a number of beautiful routes. Check out our walking and cycling routes (in Dutch only). There also are some great MTB routes.
In De Biesbosch: On this page you can read more about hiking trails in De Biesbosch. A stay in ANNA Biesbosch also includes a canoe. Canoe routes can be found here.
In De Maashorst: At the reception of Hartje Groen you can rent bicycles. There, you can also clean your steel horse with air pressure and E-bikes can be charged here for free. There’s also an ANWB bicycle support box to repair your bicycle with. The use of this box is free of charge. You can find the key in De Boshut, where you’ll also find more information about our bicycle rental.
In De Biesbosch: Renting a bike in De Biesbosch is possible at several locations. An overview can be found on the website of Biesbosch Linie.
In De Maashorst: We will bring you an extensive breakfast basket with delicious regional products every morning. We will place these in the special box out of sight of your ANNA so as not to disturb the peace and privacy. If you have any allergies, please let us know before your visit via contact@holenberg.com
In De Biesbosch: There is no breakfast service available here.

In De Biesbosch: ANNA Biesbosch has a good kitchen and you can cook delicious meals on the wood stove. If you prefer to be pampered , we are happy to provide you with some suggestions. On this page you will find a selection of special restaurants in the area.
In De Maashorst: The area is only accessible to guests of Cabin ANNA. Guests of Charme Camping Hartje Groen, as well as guests from the outside are asked not the enter the forest. The Holenberg staff will not come in sight of your ANNA during your stay unless you ask them to.
In De Biesbosch: Cabin ANNA in De Biesbosch is located on a peninsula in the middle of the nature reserve. The road to the cabin is closed to car traffic. During the day you can encounter hikers on the access road and boats can moor, but in the evening everyone leaves the park. A stay in De Biesbosch is completely remote and you are alone here.
At Cabin ANNA you can spend the night all year around. The high season is during weekends and school holidays.
The quietest days are in low season, roughly from October to March. You can walk for hours in De Maashorst without seeing anyone. Also during high season there are considerably less people in the nature reserve and around Holenberg on weekdays, especially in the weeks prior to and after a school vacation.
In high season it is very fun at camping Hartje Groen. It is possible that you will hear some noises from the camping. However, we do not play loud music and ask everyone to be quiet after 22:00. In addition, we do not receive groups at Hartje Groen, which keeps noise to a minimum. ANNA Cytisus is located closest to the camping.
Nature loves to surprise you. The most memorable moments always occur when you encounter them unexpectedly. Still there are moments in De Maashorst and De Biesbosch that really stand out. Step into nature in the early morning and discover how magical the landscape can be. Around sunset nature is overwhelmingly beautiful as well! On a clear night, look up and marvel at how majestic the starry sky looks. Spotting the large grazers in De Maashorst and the beavers in De Biesbosch always is an extraordinary experience.
In De Maashorst: At the reception of Hartje Groen there is a parking space and at De Boshut there is also a special parking space for guests of Cabin ANNA. A reservation for a parking space is not necessary.
In De Biesbosch: You may park your car at the cabin. Park your car exclusively along the path towards the harbour at the cabin. You are not supposed to park your car at the jetty. Make sure you always close the barrier properly behind you.
To maintain peace and quiet in the Holenberg forest it is not possible to place a tent next to one of the cabins.
Towels and bed linen are taken care of. For longer stays it’s possible to exchange towels and bed linen. View all facilities in the cabins via the links below.
In De Maashorst: There's electricity in all cabins.
In De Biesbosch: There is electricity in ANNA Biesbosch generated by solar panels. It is good to know that ANNA Biesbosch is off grid and the power is not infinite. Read more about the off grid system.
It might take some getting used to, but our goal is to connect you to the real world during your stay. You will love it!
In De Maashorst: Barbecuing is allowed provided that the barbecue is placed at least 30 centimetres from the ground. Will you please also make sure to always have a bucket of sand or water near you in case something should go wrong? You can also book a Primal Cooking arrangement with us, where you cook in a Dutch Oven over the fire. Fire pits or open fire may not allowed by order of the fire service. We will inform you about this.
In De Biesbosch: Unfortunately, it is not allowed to barbecue or light a fire basket in De Biesbosch. Cooking is possible on the wood-fired oven in the cabin.
In De Maashorst: In the large sanitary block of Hartje Groen you’ll find a washing machine and a dryer. For both you’ll need coins which are available at the reception. Laundry detergent is included with the purchase of the coin.
In De Biesbosch: There is no washing machine, dryer or clothesline. You can of course do a hand wash. We kindly ask you to bring your own biodegradable detergent.
At the moment, ANNA is not yet suitable for disabled persons, for the most part because there is a high step and space inside the cabin is limited. We do acknowledge the need and are currently investigating the options to include this in the future developments of ANNA.
